GRANTS FOR PARTICIPANTS As the deadline for application is over no more Grants are available from our side (July 13, 2005) It is planned that a limited number of grants will be available to young participants. In particular, the organizers of DFT2005 will submit a SCOPES proposal to the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) so as to obtain a Conference Grant enabling a limited number of scientists from Eastern European countries to participate. Preference in this context of SCOPES will be given to younger scientists (preferably under 45 years old) who provide a valuable contribution (oral presentation, poster) to the Conference. The funding will consist of a flat contribution for the selected participants used for travel (as cheap as possible) and accommodation (Students Residence) costs (*). The eligible participants should originate from the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia-Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. Scientists originating from these countries and interested in obtaining a SCOPES grant to participate in DFT2005 sould submit BEFORE MARCH 15, 2005, the following documents through Internet:
Provided the proposal is accepted and granted by the SNSF, both the organizers and the SNSF will then make the selection of the participants who will benefit from a grant and inform in due time all the candidates about the outcome of their candidacy. The ad-hoc procedure to register will be communicated directly to them. (*) It is then expected that the selected participants are able to pay the registration fee (CHF 250.-) from their own budget. As
other sources of funding may be available, participants originating
from other countries should use the same procedure in order to prepare
a grant request. |
